Even a couple decades ago, it would sound like something out of a B rated Sci-Fi flick to hear that technology has advanced to the point where it can actually prove effective as a ‘quit smoking’ aid. Today, greater numbers of people than ever before are looking to technology for everything from being proactive in their own healthcare to kicking bad habits. If you are among the millions of people who have tried unsuccessfully to quit smoking, you might want to consider the following three types of technology that have proven useful to others.
Vaporizers and e-Cigarettes
Vaping is becoming increasingly popular among smokers who are trying to either cut back the number of tobacco cigarettes they are smoking or to help them kick the habit altogether. Although government regulations state that they cannot be marketed as a cessation aid, many millions around the world have used them successfully to quit smoking.
Vaping devices and e-liquids like you can find on Tasty Vapor have helped people cut back and/or quit smoking where other methods have failed. There is no combustion which makes them a safer alternative to smoking and even though you can still inhale nicotine, you can control the amount and cut it back altogether at some point. Many who have tried numerous times to quit consider this to be technology at its best!
Smartphone Apps
There are a number of ‘kick the habit’ apps for smartphones and these range in price from free to just pennies per download. Whether you have a Windows Phone, an Android, a Blackberry or an iPhone, there is sure to be some type of app which can be downloaded to your phone. Each is programmed a bit differently but the intent is always the same. These little apps were developed to help smokers quit for a healthier lifestyle and when offered for free, there is nothing to stop you from downloading one or more for your particular phone.
Wearables
A little over a year ago a company called Chrono Therapeutics secured at least $32 million in financing for a smoking cessation wearable technology that they hope will revolutionize the ‘kick the habit’ industry. With health-tech wearables to help with everything from diabetes management to medication reminders, it is only logical that someone would come up with a wearable to help you quit smoking. When renowned organizations like the Mayo Clinic actively participate in financing this project, there is a huge amount of hope within the medical community for the success of wearables as a cessation aid.
Technology to help you quit smoking is something that was unheard of even a decade ago, and although still in the pioneering stages, many have found it highly effective. Whether you choose to use vaping/e-cig devices, wearables or smartphone apps, the point is, it is available and can be the catalyst in helping you finally quit for good. We all know that smoking tobacco kills and is the number one cause of many different kinds of cancer. Why not take advantage of technology to help you kick the habit once and for all?
