SAN FRANCISCO and PLEASANTON, Calif. — September 29, 2014 — Site24x7, the cloud infrastructure monitoring service, today announced the launch of the Site24x7 Benchmarks feature. Available immediately, this feature helps any user set performance goals by letting them compare their websites’ performance and availability to the top 20, best-performing websites globally in 20 different industries, including retail, e-commerce and healthcare. Users do not need to be Site24x7 customers to use Site24x7 Benchmarks.

Site24x7 will be demonstrating Benchmarks in booth 2401 Moscone South at Oracle OpenWorld being held Sept. 28–Oct. 2, 2014, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

Every business needs a way to evaluate its performance versus competition. The evaluation keeps the business informed about its performance and how that performance compares to its competition. Site24x7 Benchmarks provides users with a lever for improving performance by revealing how their websites are performing in relation to industry leaders around the world.

“Web performance benchmarks help the lines of business to understand what good end-user experience is perceived to be by a majority of users,” said Gibu Mathew, director of product management, Site24x7. “Additionally, Site24x7 Benchmarks can also be used in comparison reports generated by IT to prove they are meeting global best practices.”

Site24x7 Benchmarks

Site24x7 has identified the top 20 websites in each one of 20 different verticals, in five countries. The response time captured for each website is the average response time obtained from the previous day’s data, and ranking is based on this average response time. Availability percentages are calculated in similar fashion.

Graphical representation of the availability and response times gives users quick insight into the performance metrics of various websites across geographies.

Pricing and Availability

The Site24x7 Benchmarks feature is available immediately, free of charge. The feature is not exclusive to users of Site24x7; anyone can access the benchmarking data by visiting www.site24x7.com/benchmarks.
