PDF to Excel Converter Online: Choosing the Right Tool for Your Business

Many applications online allow you to convert an instance of a PDF file into a Word document. What if you wanted to convert a PDF file into Excel format? Maybe you want to run some quick analysis on the report?

For business, being able to transform PDF invoices accurately into Excel formats is a necessity. So is being able to convert purchase orders, quality reports, and product price lists into Excel ready formats. By converting these documents into Excel, business is better placed to record the documents and perform all types of analysis on the documents.

But there are several things you should be aware of PDF to Excel converter online applications.

1.   Images May Not Render

Converting PDF images into another file format is hard. In fact, most applications hit a snag every time they come across a picture. Some of these applications fail when confronted by a PDF with images.

As a business owner, you already know that most business documents have images depicting the owner of the document. For instance, when a supplier sends you an invoice, the invoice bears an image in the form of the vendor’s logo.

While choosing an online converter for PDF files in Excel format, make sure the application handles PDF images gracefully. Ideally, the application should skip the image and attempt to convert the rest of the document into an Excel format.

2.   Are There Limits?

Some PDF to Excel converter online applications impose some limit. The converter may, for instance, limit you on the PDF file size you can convert into text. Other converters limit you on the number of documents you can convert.

Such limits are not convenient, especially if you have large files or multiple files you want to be converted into Excel formats.

You should look for a service that allows you to upload multiple documents at once. Such a service guarantees you that they have a generous file size limit, and they allow you to convert multiple files.

3.   Intelligence

The level of intelligence is a big factor when choosing a PDF to Excel converter. For example, the converter should possess the ability to discern data in the PDF from arbitrary texts.

Tools that pick up all the text in the PDF and dump it into an Excel file give you the extra work of deleting unnecessary text from the final Excel document.

On the other hand, you don’t want a tool that skips so much of the data that it omits important parts of the data.

The tool should make a compromise between omitting data and dumping all the data.

4.   What Is In It For Them?

On the Internet, you normally have to give something in return for a service. Some converters may ask you to pay a small amount, while others ask you to sign up with the website in exchange of the service.

However, there are conversion tools out there that are completely free.

Choose the tool that best meets your demands, in both conversion and what you pay for the service.
