Berlin, Germany (June 17, 2014)—Originate, a pioneer in venture product development, announced today at the Scala Days Conference the launch of its “Scala Transformation” offering. The new service helps enterprises evolve off legacy platforms like .NET, J2EE, and PHP to Scala—one of the most popular high-level software languages—without business or operating disruption.
“Enterprises today have to innovate while in motion—they don’t have the luxury of shutting down their digital consumer experiences while they upgrade their software architecture,” said Originate CEO Rob Meadows. “We are thrilled to be at the premier gathering for software developers to showcase how Originate is offering mission-critical technology to enterprises looking to reimagine products, redefine industry, and change the status quo.”
With Scala emerging as one of the most popular choices for digital architecture in recent years, Originate’s new service offering will focus on using Scala + Play to develop public and private cloud solutions that deliver compelling digital experiences for enterprise users. Originate’s 130+ elite software designers, developers, and product strategists have used an aligned partnership model to deliver strong commercial results for partner companies ranging in size from start-up to enterprise.
“Our partnership with Originate was critical to our launch last year of our new global social discovery platform,” said Erik Wachtmeister, founder of private social networks ASW and Best of All Worlds. “Scala has allowed us to build and scale our new social network at a fraction of the time and cost compared to past legacy platforms.”
Many of Originate’s enterprise partners see Scala as an opportunity to create new user experiences while keeping up with growth.
“Originate has made the development process with Scala + Play nearly as agile as Ruby + Rails, leaving our partners in a strong position to scale,” said Matt Handler, Director of Software at Originate. “Our unique partnership models with innovative companies like NewAer, Angie’s List, and Best of All Worlds, among others, have been key to the successful outcome of past technology transformation projects.”
Originate CEO Rob Meadows is among the attendees at this year’s Scala Days conference. Jason Arhart, Originate’s Scala Architect, will be a featured speaker. Several of Originate’s partners, including Angie’s List, will be attending the conference.
