NetSuite Selects SolarWinds for Global, End-to-End IT Infrastructure Management

AUSTIN, Texas – April 23, 2014 – SolarWinds (NYSE: SWI), a leading provider of powerful and affordable IT management software, today announced that NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), the industry’s leading provider of cloud-based financials / ERP and omnichannel commerce software suites, has selected the suite of SolarWinds solutions as its holistic IT infrastructure management solution for their global IT operations, which serve more than 2,400 employees and support 25 locations worldwide.  Read the full case study.

NetSuite provides cloud business software solutions including enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), ecommerce, inventory to more than 20,000 companies and subsidiaries worldwide. Upon joining NetSuite, Erik Cummings, NetSuite’s Director of Global Information Technology, was challenged with centralizing its globally diversified corporate IT department, which was taxing NetSuite’s resources and threatening to impede the efficiency of the growing company.

Cummings built a unified global IT team and asked them to research and suggest a holistic IT infrastructure management solution that would be cost effective, require minimal training, and would provide global visibility, notification management, capacity management, service availability and metrics beyond “just uptime” that could scale with NetSuite’s growth.

“Generally when I’ve used software from other vendors, I have had to significantly add headcount or intelligence to maintain those systems,” Cummings said. “I needed IT management software that would work hard so that we wouldn’t have to and that would snap together without a huge upfront expense. That’s when we turned to SolarWinds.”

Cummings’ team recommended SolarWinds’ suite of cohesive and integrated software solutions. The NetSuite global IT infrastructure team was able to deploy the spectrum of SolarWinds’ offering to cover their end-to-end IT infrastructure management needs, including applications, servers, virtual environments, networks, storage, security and log data, and desktops.

“SolarWinds is a match for my holistic infrastructure management vision and more,” Cummings said.

NetSuite Achieves Operational Efficiency and Immediate Value

The NetSuite IT team’s goal was to achieve operational efficiency by having access to the data they needed for more complete understanding, visibility, stability and capacity across their global corporate IT infrastructure. With SolarWinds’ integrated and easy-to-use solutions including SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor and SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor, NetSuite achieved that goal and saw immediate operational improvement and value for their investment.

“With practically the click of a button, we were able to add a new Exchange server monitoring package and start defining and adding more services to it with ease,” said Cummings.

In the coming months, NetSuite expects to see continued progress and success using SolarWinds.

“In a generalized environment with a mix of the three big operating systems like NetSuite corporate network environment has, there are only a few software solutions that present across-the-board support,” Cummings said. “SolarWinds does this – really, really well.”

“At SolarWinds, we understand that growing companies inherently face increasing challenges due to geographic expansion, broader tech requirements, and greater numbers of employees and customers to support,” said Suaad Sait, EVP Products and Markets, SolarWinds. “By implementing SolarWinds’ integrated, globally scalable IT management solution, NetSuite was able to address their IT growing pains across networks, servers, applications, and more, and instead focus on furthering their company’s growth and expansion.”
