THE NETHERLANDS (May 12th, 2014) –Today, RingCredible, the European mobile VoIP provider, announces the acquisition of Hong Kong based Yeloworld. Already a market leader in Europe, North and South America, the consolidation deal, which terms are not disclosed, now expands RingCredible’s reach to the Asian market. Not even 4 months after the magic figure of 1 million users was reached, the company now passes the 2 million users milestone, and reinforces its position as a leading provider of extremely low call rates to any landlines or mobiles worldwide, in combination with superior call quality. Both Yeloworld and RingCredible were mentioned, earlier this year, among the most important Over-The-Top (OTT) applications in a research paper by Forrester.
Yeloworld joining RingCredible is part of a larger market trend. “As we have seen with WhatsApp, and other Mobile VoIP providers (Viber, Tango) in recent months, the current market is ready for consolidation.”, says Philippe Joly, co-founder of Yeloworld, “The prime drivers for consolidation are economies of scale in customer acquisition, service delivery and mobile voice minutes. This has become more and more important to be competitive. I am delighted that Yeloworld joins RingCredible, as the combination offers one of the most attractive and competitive mobile VoIP services in the market.”
The RingCredible App ranks very well on the various App stores, and is one of the most popular travel Apps in the world, listed in the Top 10 in over 140 countries. RingCredible’s proposition of calling most countries globally at very low rates, in combination with superior call quality and low data consumption, has gone unmatched by traditional telcos and other Mobile VoIP providers. “Because we only offer outgoing calls, our quality is more stable, and the user experience mirrors that of a regular phone call. It also reduces considerably any battery drains, a problem commonly seen with other providers.” says Hans Osnabrugge, CEO RingCredible. “A strong market proposition in combination with a low customer acquisition cost has been fueling our 250% growth last year”.
RingCredible will start the process of raising Series A funding. Hans Osnabrugge says “Ringcredible’s customer life time value in comparison with a customer acquisition cost justifies an accelerated growth strategy. Our ambition is to become the number 1 Mobile VoIP provider globally”.
