MapR Unveils Free, Complete Apache Spark Training and Developer Certification

New York, NY – February 17, 2016 –MapR Technologies, Inc., provider of the industry’s only converged data platform, today announced at Spark Summit East 2016 it is now offering a free, complete online Spark curriculum via MapR Academy’s On-Demand Training, leading to developer certification in Spark. The company also made available a preview of Spark 1.6 for developers to test on the MapR Converged Data Platform.

The MapR Academy’s free online Spark curriculum includes a Spark certification study guide and access to the Spark certification exam. Usually priced at $250, MapR is currently offering the MapR Certified Spark Developerexam for only $100.

This industry credential validates a developer’s technical knowledge, skills and abilities to use Spark in an enterprise environment to process large datasets. Specifically, the MCSD-certified developer can use Spark to load and inspect data, build Spark applications, work with Pair RDD and Dataframes, monitor Spark application performance, and do advanced programming using MLLib.
