Litéra Surveys Examine Mobile Device Usage, Document Security and Collaboration Landscape

McLeansville, N.C.—October 31, 2012—Litéra, the leading provider of content lifecycle, collaboration and risk management solutions, today announced the company has launched two global surveys. One survey measures the impact mobile device usage has on business risk, and the other survey assesses how document collaboration tools affect business productivity.

The mobile device usage and document security survey is the second in a series on the BYOD movement and its effect on the risks associated with storing business documents on and e-mailing business documents from a mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet. According to the first mobile device usage survey, issued by Litéra earlier this year, 96 percent of business professionals polled are using mobile devices to store, access and send sensitive material; the survey also revealed that the majority of workers are doing so without e-mail encryption or scrubbing metadata, posing significant security and reputational risks to their companies.

The survey measuring document collaboration practices asks questions related to the amount of time professionals spend on authoring, reviewing, editing and approving high-value business documents. The survey also evaluates the effectiveness of various tools designed for document collaboration, asking particpants for input on what would make the collaboration process more efficient and effective.

“We use several methods for staying in touch with the document and content management marketplace,” said Norm Thomas, chief commercial officer at Litéra. “We always aspire to stay ahead of the curve and deliver insights that are valuable  to the end-user community. These surveys are just one of the ways we are able to anticpate what professionals need from their productivity and risk mitigation applications.”

Litéra invites all business professionals and mobile knowledge workers to participate in both surveys. Participants will receive the results as well as have the opportunity to win a Google Nexus 7. The surveys can be accessed using the following links:
