LEXINGTON, Mass. – September 11, 2014 – Ipswitch today announced the release of MOVEit™ 8.1 managed file transfer system that provides IT administrators with enhanced enterprise security and compliance of file-based processes through integration with pre-existing IT infrastructures.
Key New Features
– Single sign-on (SSO) integration through SAML 2.0* standards-based integration with identity and access management systems from Microsoft, OneLogin, and Shibboleth reduces administration time and improves end user productivity
– Data loss prevention (DLP) integration through ICAP** standards-based integration with solutions from McAfee, RSA and Symantec helps IT teams monitor and control movement of sensitive files wherever they go
– Disaster recovery and failover support via integration with Neverfail IT Continuity Engine to minimize downtime for business continuity and to further satisfy requirements for regulatory compliance
“Too many enterprises – IT teams and end-users alike – are struggling with complex, manual methods for moving files, with a resulting lack of visibility, control and consistency with policies for security and compliance,” said Derek Brink, vice president and research fellow at Aberdeen Group, a Harte Hanks Company. “The good news is that it’s possible for IT teams to provide their users with an enterprise-supported managed file transfer solution that addresses these issues, without the chaos of custom coding or uncontrolled consumer-oriented solutions.”
“Traditional file transfer is not the right solution for most enterprises today. IT teams need a secure file transfer system that isn’t hard to set up or manage and integrates with the existing IT infrastructure,” said John Slocum, Director of Product Management at Ipswitch. “With the release of the MOVEit 8.1 managed file transfer system we’re delivering upon our company mission to provide our customers with simple solutions for complex IT problems, through standards-based integration with critical security and business continuity systems that will streamline IT tasks and increase end user adoption and productivity.”
