Palo Alto, Calif. – (November 12, 2014) – Instart Logic, the Cloud Application Delivery Service for performance-obsessed organizations, today announced the availability of the Instart Logic Security Suite. The new suite extends Instart Logic’s end-to-end, client-cloud software-defined application delivery (SDAD) platform by providing customers with multi-layered protection against DDoS attacks and other cybersecurity threats. The offering includes a new ProxyWall service that provides advanced web application firewall and origin protection capabilities.
Key end-to-end features and capabilities of the Security Suite include:
– Secure ProxyWall that combines web application firewall capabilities with origin protection. The ProxyWall inspects plaintext and SSL traffic; alerts, rate-limits or blocks malicious traffic, designated user agents or IP addresses; and is based on the respected ModSecurity engine and OWASP core rule set. The ProxyWall also protects the origin server from non-HTTP(S) traffic and transmits “clean” traffic from a dedicated connection to the Instart Logic cloud.
– DDoS protection that absorbs denial of service (DoS) and distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, protecting the origin.
– PCI DSS Level-1 compliance, the highest level of PCI compliance, which provides a dedicated environment for financial transactions.
“Instart Logic uses the same open source web application firewall engine and rule set for its Security Suite that are standard in the application delivery market,” said Peter Blum, vice president of product management, Instart Logic. “What sets us apart is our patented SDAD platform, which delivers unmatched application performance — especially over wireless networks. Now, customers don’t have to choose between speed and security.”
Instart Logic’s ProxyWall adds to DDoS protection and the company’s previously announced PCI DSS Level-1 compliance to provide protection across the end-to-end application delivery path, from device to cloud to origin. This multi-layered approach to security builds on Instart Logic’s client-cloud SDAD platform, now used by a rapidly growing number of organizations to improve web application performance on mobile devices. SDAD is a software-based architectural approach that provides control, extensibility and performance that cannot be achieved with traditional application delivery technologies like CDNs. With the addition of the Instart Logic Security Suite, e-commerce, media and SaaS companies can now offer their users a superior web experience that also protects their site against malicious cyber activity.
Instart Logic today also announced the addition of Dan Boneh to its advisory board. Boneh is a cybersecurity expert and professor of computer science and electrical engineering at Stanford University. “With security breaches peppering the news, protection against DDoS and other malicious cyberattacks are top of mind for ecommerce, SaaS and media organizations,” said Boneh. “Instart Logic has a unique combination of top-quality security capabilities and unmatched application performance.”
The Instart Logic Security Suite starts at $3,000 a month and is available immediately. For more information, please visit http://instartlogic.com/platform/security
