Informatica achieved the highest score for current offering and strategy based on the evaluation of Informatica Data Services. According to Forrester Research, Inc., “Informatica delivers a strong broad offering coupled with strong organization commitment.” “With v 9, Informatica advanced its capabilities with on the fly data quality and profiling, a model-driven approach to provisioning data services, performance enhancements, cloud integration, common metadata, and role-specific tools. Additionally, the report states that global data virtualization deployments show product maturity and the evaluated vendors have an established presence in the market and have a viable offering. “The data virtualization market continues to grow strongly, with more mature solutions supporting large deployments. Forrester predicts that total software revenues (licenses, maintenance and services) in data virtualization will grow to $8 billion by 2014. This includes offerings from service providers.” Top vendors such as Informatica continue to extend their products and innovate in delivering enterprise-wide solutions.

Forrester evaluated each vendor’s Current Offering against 40 criteria that focus on core and advanced functionality. In addition, Forrester also scored each vendor’s Strategy by assessing six criteria including data services vision, development roadmap, commitment, financial resources to support strategy, and pricing structure and development cost. Informatica received the highest scores across both categories.
