On January 22, 2015, San Mateo, California based Clarizen, a leader in enterprise work collaboration software, announced its Winter Release, delivering an enterprise-grade mobile platform and customization for the modern workplace. Clarizen’s new mobile platform mirrors the full functionality of the company’s award-winning web application, creating a seamless, consistent user experience between devices. Additionally, new Clarizen Profiles deliver role-based configuration, so companies can streamline the work experience for groups of employees while tightly controlling access to sensitive information. The Winter Release delivers on the company’s goal of providing for the future of work by giving employees access to the information and collaboration they need, when and where they need it.
Enterprise-Class Mobile Platform
The Clarizen mobile platform combines the full extent of web and mobile experiences, seamlessly connecting mobile functionality – like the camera and phone – with enterprise work collaboration, so team members can get their work done on the go. For example, employees can start a project in the desktop app and complete it on an iPhone and vice versa, photograph receipts and submit expenses, and even call or text colleagues.
“Clarizen is committed to providing a seamless, intuitive user journey between the desktop app and mobile devices, and our reimagined mobile platform fulfills this ‘mobile and enterprise enablement’ vision,” said Rachel Haim Hadas, Clarizen VP of product. “Connection and collaboration power the modern workplace, with employees in multiple locations working on multiple initiatives. Employees need anytime, anywhere access to relevant projects to connect, collaborate and get work done.”
Clarizen’s mobile platform helps to enable an organization’s business processes. Since the mobile app experience is the same as the Clarizen web application – configured with the same layout, modules and forms – users can easily create new items, update data and collaborate using Clarizen’s discussion platform all on their mobile devices. Like the Clarizen web application, the mobile platform supports organization-wide collaboration, among the workforce, management, external partners and customers.
“Immediacy is at the heart of mobile collaboration. Employees reach for their mobile devices to access information or contact colleagues in their moments of need — which Forrester refers to as mobile moments. Not only must the mobile collaboration experience be available on the device they reach for, but it also cannot be overwhelming in its delivery; it needs to give employees exactly what they need in their mobile moments.” (source: “What You Need In a Mobile Collaboration App,” Forrester Research, Inc., December 10, 2014)
Reimagined Mobile Platform – Highlights include:
– Consistent User Experience Between Devices: Users see the same navigation and functionality that they work with in the Clarizen web app.
– Quick Access to On-the-Go Actions: Quickly access specific actions such as reporting time and submitting expenses – including photographing and submitting receipts – as well as calling or texting colleagues directly from the mobile app.
– Drill Down Access: Drill down to any item and gain full access to view and edit information.
– Discussion Feed Access: Participate in discussion feeds from anywhere in the app, to take ideas to execution on the fly.
Clarizen Profiles Provide Tailored Access by Role or Group
Clarizen Profiles enable companies to set up tailored user experiences for different groups or roles within an organization. For example, marketing employees can have easy access to document proofing functionality but don’t see the time reporting features they don’t need to use. Meanwhile, professional services team members can access full time-and-expense reporting functions but don’t see the ticket tracking functionality that their IT team uses every day. In addition to increased employee efficiency, the enterprise benefits by being able to apply restrictions across entire groups as needed to protect sensitive information quickly and easily.
Clarizen Profiles – Highlights include:
– Usability: Tailor Clarizen for each role type within the company, displaying only the modules, fields, panels and views that are relevant for team members.
– Security: Define user access to fields, actions and workflows, limiting certain users or groups from accessing data or triggering irrelevant workflows.
– Flexibility: Assign multiple profiles to any user, allowing workers to switch between profiles and access the data they need for current tasks.
