Business Intelligence Market Poised to Evolve
May 7, 2012 No CommentsThe changes in the business intelligence market will introduce new trends that companies must address in 2012. Cloud-based business intelligence will be a major topic of discussion this year as many decision-makers are still skeptical of the technology and the benefits it brings, according to a CIO report.
Some of the challenges introduced with cloud business intelligence is data quality, security and logistical issues that arise during implementation. However, once the information is moved to the hosted environments, organizations can access a number of on-demand management and data quality tools to help them utilize mission-critical records appropriately, the news source said.
Analytics will also grow in importance in 2012 as mobile and cloud-based business intelligence adoption rises. By using analytic tools, organizations can differentiate themselves from competitors, run more efficiently and utilize information acquired from customers to improve revenue, CIO reported.
According to a recent study by Gartner, the global business intelligence, analytic application and performance management software market generated more than $12 billion in revenue in 2011. This trend will continue through 2012, as chief information officers have labeled these technologies to be their top priority.
