San Diego, CA – December 10, 2014 – BP Logix, provider of BPM solutions for rapid workflow app development, today announced that its customer Johnson & Johnson (J&J) was selected as a winner in the Gartner Business Process Management Excellence Awards 2014 in North America. The Awards program recognizes and highlights world-class BPM programs and projects that deliver business results by broadly sharing their successes, challenges and insights.
As the manufacturer of thousands of healthcare products used worldwide, Janssen and Ethicon, subsidiaries of Johnson & Johnson (J&J) are obligated by both Credo and regulation to ensure all marketing materials are approved, supported and backed by real-world data, particularly given the rapid shift and complexity of the marketing landscape to digital and multi-media promotion.
As J&J entered the digital age and, and with the advent of new forms of materials (video, mobile applications, web sites etc.), being able to collaboratively manage the review and approval of sales and marketing documents became more critical. The burden was exacerbated by significantly more unwieldy and complex digital submissions, including digital renderings and multi-media file types, which are considerably more complicated than print submissions. Additionally there was the request to provide approvals on the omnipresent mobile devices.
This global promotional review process, which J&J branded the EOS Initiative, is driven by BP Logix Process Director. The solution is based on one fully contained workflow that incorporates all metadata, references, links and information about the submissions. All references and claims are also contained in one location. As a result, all of J&J’s marketing assets are now housed in one environment for repurposing, reuse and auditing. This worldwide, cross-sector, validated, harmonized copy approval and digital asset management system has also contributed to significant cost savings for the company, as well as accelerating the review and approval process.
According to Gartner, “Janssen and Ethicon delivered a comprehensive digital asset lifecycle management strategy to streamline multiple processes, scale globally and support thousands of internal and external stakeholders who submit, review, annotate and approve assets prior to release to an integrated library of approved assets. This solution transformed processes to reduce compliance risk, ensuring faster reviews and established a shared services platform — a novel approach within a decentralized culture.”
“In receiving this award, Gartner has acknowledged the vision and implementation that are the results of a strong collaboration between Janssen and Ethicon and between business and IT,” observed Jay O’Brien, BP Logix CEO. “Knowing that this initiative is based on our technology, and that we are enabling J&J to achieve this objective, is both satisfying and rewarding,” he concluded.
