(VMworld 2013, San Francisco, Calif. – August 26, 2013) – Bluelock, a certified VMware vCloud® Datacenter provider of Virtual Datacenters hosted in the public cloud, today announces continued impressive growth with its Recovery-as-a-Service (RaaS) offering. In the past three months, Bluelock experienced 195 percent disaster recovery revenue growth with its new 4-Series Virtual Datacenters, a RaaS solution. SMB and Enterprise customers have found considerable value in Bluelock RaaS as a simple, affordable way to protect data and recover applications. Many of those customers faced budgetary or manpower constraints but were then able to implement disaster recovery based on the price point and ease of use of Bluelock’s solution.
Bluelock’s Recovery-as-a-Service (RaaS) offering includes a 4-Series Virtual Datacenter enabling organizations to recover critical IT resources with increased efficiency and effectiveness when an adverse situation strikes. Bluelock has two RaaS solutions, a “To-Cloud” solution for customers who want to protect data and recover workloads hosted in their own facilities, and an “In-Cloud” solution for current Bluelock cloud customers seeking regional protection. Both offerings require no re-working of applications, are easily tested and are 100 percent compatible with VMware. Bluelock’s RaaS solutions also feature a new high-availability datacenter location within the Las Vegas, NV Switch SuperNAP facility as well as deep integration with Bluelock Portfolio, Bluelock’s proprietary cost and resource management portal.
Gartner estimates that worldwide recovery as a service (RaaS) spending in 2012 was $465.7 million, and that the market will grow to $1.2 billion by 2017, a CAGR of 21 percent .
According to Gartner, “reducing costs and improving agility/flexibility remain two of the top reasons organizations are using cloud-based computing. As improvements continue to occur in the areas of data security, integration, management and contracting, the overall confidence is growing for using cloud-based solutions, specifically IaaS, for disaster recovery .”
“Bluelock is very excited to have found its niche in a highly competitive disaster recovery market using the proven cloud infrastructure platform that we have refined over seven years,” said Pat, O’Day, Chief Technology Officer, Bluelock. “With impressive improvements in replication technology, Bluelock is now able to offer a compelling cloud-based recovery solution that is simple and affordable. This solution is creating a sea of change that enables companies, who couldn’t afford to compete with the DR capabilities of larger competitors, to now access enterprise level recovery capabilities and processes.”
