Another Data Breach – This time at Sonic Drive-In

Sonic Drive-In is the latest company to experience a data breach. Millions of customers who have used their credit card or debit card at a Sonic Drive-In may be at risk.
KrebsOnSecurity contacted Sonic about this breach and Sonic has released the following statement:
“The security of our guests’ information is very important to SONIC. We are working to understand the nature and scope of this issue, as we know how important this is to our guests. We immediately engaged third-party forensic experts and law enforcement when we heard from our processor. While law enforcement limits the information we can share, we will communicate additional information as we are able.”
Customers of Sonic should carefully check their card statements for any unusual activity.
Sonic Drive-Ins are located in 45 out of the 50 states. It’s corporate headquarters are in Oklahoma City. It is the largest chain of drive-in restaurants with more than 3,500 drive-ins serving approximately 3 million customers every day.
