Alfresco Workdesk Streamlines Document-Centric Business Processes
June 18, 2013 No CommentsNew Application Brings Alfresco into Case Management & Business Process Markets
San Mateo, CA – June 13, 2013 – Alfresco, the open platform for business-critical content management and collaboration, today announced – a new application on the Alfresco enterprise content platform that is focused on streamlining document-centric business processes, such as claims processing, HR employee on-boarding, mailroom automation, deal management and loan origination. This is the first Alfresco offering based on the WeWebU acquisition made earlier this year.
Alfresco Workdesk has already helped customers save money by making processes more efficient, increasing employee and customer satisfaction. Alfresco Workdesk is currently deployed in finance and banking, insurance, government and high-tech manufacturing including M&A and project management.
“Alfresco Workdesk adds application functionality that helps customers more quickly and easily configure Alfresco to their unique business process,” said John Newton, CTO of Alfresco. “This is just the beginning of our aim to simplify the user experience and speed time-to-value for our enterprise customers.”
Alfresco Workdesk is built on the Alfresco content platform and is paving the way for the future of ECM apps by focusing on:
- Business role management. Who you are and your business role determines what content, views and actions you see when you log-in. Log-in, complete your document queue, and log-out.
- Dynamic folders and views. Working hand-in-hand with business role management, dynamic folders and views allows Alfresco to serve-up the content and context you need to get your job done, at the appropriate point in the business process.
- Configuration over coding. Alfresco Workdesk is designed to be configured to your specific business process without extensive coding.
“Workdesk allows us to create and maintain the needed workflows for our customers in a very efficient and flexible way,” said Uwe Kartmann, CEO of Transactio, a back-office service provider for savings banks in Germany. “Thus, we can guarantee high quality and achieve shorter delivery and processing times, leading to a significant increase in productivity, customer satisfaction and overall lower costs.”
Available today as an enterprise subscription from Alfresco, Alfresco Workdesk is built on the Content Management Interoperability Servies (CMIS) standard and is offered as a full-featured browser-based app, a desktop integration or as a native iOS application for mobile devices.
