Talend Selected by Leading Analyst Firm in “Who’s Who in Open-Source Data Quality” Report

Los Altos, CA – February 1, 2012 Talend, a global open-source software leader, today announced that it has been recognized by Gartner, Inc. for data quality in their recent “Who’s Who in Open-Source Data Quality (2012 Update)” report.

For companies seeking a data quality solution, the evaluation process can be sobering. Most commercially available solutions are costly, complex, and require software licenses and term contracts, while only addressing a portion of the overall issue. Open source data quality solutions are gaining attention with their flexible integration, cost efficiency, rapid deployment and turnkey scalability options.

“We believe our inclusion in Gartner’s Who’s Who report brings further recognition of Talend’s leadership in open source data management,” said Bertrand Diard, CEO and co-founder, Talend. “As more organizations recognize that understanding data quality issues early in the game, and delivering clean data between systems, are mission-critical imperatives, open source software offers a viable alternative for companies that need to implement cost-effective solutions to address their data quality and data integration needs. As the primary open-source provider of data quality solutions, we offer enterprise-ready products that are unmatched in their capabilities, while remaining flexible and cost-effective to use.”

The report recommends that “organizations consider the market convergence of data quality tools with data integration platforms, and look for data quality solutions that are easily integrated into data integration data flows.”

Talend’s products cited in the report include Talend Enterprise Data Quality, a comprehensive enterprise data quality management solution that delivers not only data profiling and discovery, but also data cleaning, data enrichment, data migration and data synchronization functionality. Talend Enterprise Data Quality is fully integrated with Talend’s other products through the Talend Unified Platform, providing close integration with data integration, master data management, enterprise service bus and business process management. Also included in the report is Talend Open Studio for Data Quality, a freely downloadable data quality tool offered under an open source license.
