Sensitive Data Management ‘Moving Up Public Agenda’

April 26, 2011 No Comments

Sensitive data management within the public sector and especially in organisations which allow flexible or remote working has improved somewhat, a new survey shows.

Becrypt carried out research to discover whether there had been a shift in attitude towards dealing with data security due to the rise of mobile working.

While in 2007, half of the organisations polled had specific policies in place, this has now increased to 92 per cent.

The same proportion said that if sensitive data management could be assured, they would extend remote working solutions to more employees.

In addition, 90 per cent of councils now utilise security measures such as virtual private networks, strong passwords and port control.
